A room with more than five hundred people, several tape recorders ready to pick up his words, many cameras ready to take his picture as inspiration. This represents a new challenge for Jaime Viñals any morning. This is a summit which is not counted when it began the road to the mountain. The mountaineer who learned of their fears, their limitations and even its flaws alone, now is devoted to motivate others to do likewise. I knew Jaime Viñals and their feats through the press. Every time there was any news on the sports pages, cutting came to a place of honour at the door of my refrigerator. And is that the kitchen is the center of operations for my home. Everyone who passed through there, read, commented and admired by our tireless climber summits.

So, surely, on sites in honor of each household Guatemala. Knowing that one of us walked avoiding danger both to achieve his dream, we instilled a kind of strange admiration, pride and solidarity.Then, I had the opportunity to know and participate in a beautiful project to put into words an important part of his life journey. What accompanied to give his motivational talks, I saw their pictures, I moved with the videos in the television, read his previous books, shared with his beautiful family, I interviewed the people who come to listen to him. On several occasions, I was surprised that people share an initial feeling when you know: but if it is so short, I think it is curious how the heroes are given excessive features in the collective imagination. Jaime Viñals that is not a giant two meters in height is fine. That we are a nation of small hands even better. Because we know that size does not matter when it comes to making big dreams. What about smaller hands may be more skilled, and well, listening to comments from people who come to see him, I understand the need that we as a society figures that we remember that it is possible to achieve our goals.

In small countries like ours, a lot of things are not done yet. There is still enough room for probability. One girl native who played with figures of mud can become an Ambassador of peace to the World. A shy kid who made drawings on the walls can become a Nobel Prize for Literature. A little boy who he was afraid of heights can reach the summit of Mount Everest and many others. Many stories we illustrate our capacity for imagination. Creativity compensates our compact size. Maybe that size was also the one who saved our mountaineer's death white, back on the Roof of the World. The way of seeing Jaime?s life is refreshing, it is necessary. His vision is optimistic and different. And brought, as they say, from a very young age. Not for nothing his nickname "cazacumbres" which means "hunter of summits". And yet, the momentum had to learn to dominate. To dose it, for make the best of it. He said that nobody is expecting him up there.

Perhaps, Ligia, his partner and wife, but there are factors involved magical ... Jaime realized that he had to share this gift, not giving up, getting up as often as possible, it is necessary before any losses, To learn even the worst falls. Jaime Viñals is not the same man who started climbing the volcano Tajumulco in Guatemala. Among its collection spiritual, I admire especially his humility. This strange gift, in the very moment that we believe possess, we have been spared forever. As Jaime himself said, the road is not finished. The age and physically he certainly will make it impossible large icy peaks in the years to come. Jaime however, will continue to rise summits. Along with his wife and their children (his best team), and alone. Because while there is life which go, the challenges remain for him.

For Guatemala. And the most important lesson for the rest of us is, then, that summed up the thinking of Don Quijote when he said to his friend, "he recalls, Sancho, which is the best way to the inn."
