New Project 2008

Jaime Vinals, Guatemalan mountaineer, is a person of challenges, from its beginnings in his career as a mountaineer.

In the year 1995 beginning the challenge of climbing the highest peak on every continent on the planet, known as the Seven Summits of the world and finishes successfully at the year 2001.

In 2002 began another challenge, known as the seven islands in the world, consisting of climbing the highest peak of the seven largest islands of the world.

From 2002 to 2006 managed to make this challenge of the Islands, thereby ending the famous Grand Slam of the Seven Summits and the Seven Islands.

This year 2008 takes a new project called the 50 most prominence summits of the world or also known just like 50 MOST PROMINENCE OF THE WORLD.

In 2007 Andy Martin contacted Jaime Vinals through this website telling him about it.

Jaime has already climbed 19 of these fifty summits, these are:

On June 19 Jaime Vinals due to leave Turkey for climb Mount Ararat, where the Noah's Ark was, this is the largest summit in this country and is one of the "50 Prominent", the scaled along with the turkish mountaineer Metin Elek.

Immediately achieved this goal will travel to the Canary Islands to climb Pico Teide, Spain's highest summit, starting the ascent from the coast of Tenerife, will be a long walk of several days between arid and rocky terrain. It will be a rise from the warm coast to the eternal ice of the summit.

In achieving success in both scale and carried 21 of 50. The person who takes over the world are currently 26 summits (Junko Tabei of Japan).

The goal is to be the first climber to achieve these Prominent 50.
