The company will support the mountaineer in his next challenge

Reaching the summit of Mount Everest was only the beginning…

Guatemala, June 10, 2008

McDonald's announced today that is one of the sponsors of the upcoming issue of Jaime Vinals. The Guatemalan mountaineer has proposed to climb to the summit of the 50 most prominent mountains in the world.

So far, Vinals has climbed 19 of these summits, which places it among the climbers who have managed to climb over. "The person who carries more peaks, has risen 26," said the athlete at a press conference.

This year's challenge will be the Mount Ararat in Turkey and Pico Teide, Spain; adventure starting next June 19. "This issue involves travel miles overland in desert areas in both regions," said Vinals.

McDonald's is pleased to support entrepreneurial projects, which put on high the name of Guatemala. "We know that Jaime Vinals is an example to follow and believe in him and his dreams" said Ana Cristina Alejos, Coordinator of Public Relations McDonald's Mesoamerica.

McDonald's Guatemala has supported Jaime Vinals on other occasions. In fact, the restaurant located in Forests of St. Nicholas is a tribute to mountaineer: photographs of Vinals at the top of Everest decorate the walls, which also exhibit some of the equipment he used in his expeditions.

McDonald's renews its commitment to Guatemala, providing the highest quality standards in their products, generating new jobs and providing excellent care to their customers.
